Starting Point Diagnosis = The Site Has > 20 ft 2 Basal Area Per Acre of Longleaf in the Overstory and Has a Recent History of Fire In this situation it is likely that the woody understory
and accumulated forest floor fuel will not require special treatment.
Burning should begin with a growing season fire in late March or April
and follow with both growing season and dormant season burns until the
stand is regenerated. At that point, fire should be continued as often
as needed to control fuels and to encourage restoration of the desired
understory. Back to the Overview on this Topic or is your Starting Point Diagnosis = Site Has > 20 ft 2 Basal Area Per Acre of Longleaf in the Overstory and But Does Not Have Recent History of Fire ?
